When you inherit a beautiful one-of-a-kind quilt from a loved one you want to preserve its integrity and show it off. There are all kinds of quick solutions out there, but when it comes to an antique quilt that is delicate, with fabric that over the years has become fragile, we believe that these quilts deserve special attention. At HAENEN DESIGN STUDIOS we have developed a special reversible hanging system to preserve the integrity of your quilts while imposing minimal impact. Once up, your quilts will show in all their glory.
One of our golden rules is to never use the sewing machine for this work but always hand sew the hanging system to the back. Though it takes a good bite out of our day, it also brings back the meditative quiet that comes with a repetitious task by hand. We love that aspect of it!
How does it work? If you are located in the greater Los Angeles area we will come to your home to measure the space where the quilt is going to hang, discuss the project with you and collect your quilt(s.) We will set a date for the delivery / installation and get to work. It will take about 3 weeks to get the job done. Rest assured that your quilts are in good hands!
